Project | 01 "Spot On" Parking Service Print Ad

     For our Comm 351 class, our group was given the task to create a print ad for a "supposedly" new valet parking service at Cal State Fullerton. Our group came up with the name "Spot On" for the service, as well as the tagline "We'll save you a spot!" Our headline is "New year, new you, now on time." For our print ad, we played with the idea of before and after. We included the infamous car line waiting for parking at our parking structure, which represents the "before" aspect to show how it was like for students before using the service. We also added in the image of a student happily getting off her car, as she handed her car key to the parking service, which represents the "after" aspect of how the service has helped the student with parking.

Project | 02 "A Concert of Love" Concert Invitation

    For our Comm 351's final project, our group had to create an integrated ad campaign using nontraditional advertising for a product given by our professor, which was toilet paper. We chose Charmin Ultra Soft as our main product line and came up with ways to help promote the brand using a holiday theme. We decided to go with Valentine as the holiday and named the whole campaign as "Lots of Love". One of our tactics for the campaign was to have a charity concert and this is the invitation we created for the Charmin's "A Concert of Love." The invitation would be distributed using the "golden ticket' method, which buyers can randomly find the invitation in their Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper pack.

Project | 03  "Phone Distraction" PSA​​

     This is a PSA that I created for my CTVA 220 Multi-Camera Production class. A multi-camera production is often used in game shows, soap operas, and sitcoms with multiple cameras set up. For this project, my tasks were to write the PSA script, as well as directed the filming of the PSA using the elements of the multi-camera format. I was the director of the PSA and my fellow classmates were my crew members. With the PSA, I hope people would stop being distracted by their phones whenever they hang out with their loved one.

Project | 04  "Starbucks Rewards" Print Ad

      For my Comm 353 - Advertising Creative Strategy and Execution I, I created a series of print ad for Starbucks and its rewards program.  To help Starbucks' customer feel our appreciation, the series of print ads show the different benefits of the reward program. The print ads deliver the genuineness and the feeling of warmth using the familiar images of the Starbucks shop setting and Starbucks products. The goal of the ads is for the customers to feel like Starbucks Reward Program is created to be as personalized as possible to the members. Through the ads, I want them to feel appreciated by the brand’s effort to make the rewards of the program worthwhile for the amount of money they spent on the brand. By providing clear instructions, as well as the benefits of the reward program, non-reward members will feel welcome and encourage to join and set up their own account to become a reward member. These benefits can range from the free birthday drink to member appreciation days.  Becoming a reward member will serve as a motivation for customers to visit the brand more frequently.

Project | 06  "Burger King's Chicken Nuggets" Internet Animated Banner Ad

      The second project from my Comm 353 required me to create 4 internet animated banner ad in different sizes. The brand I chose was Burger King with the focus on their chicken nuggets deal. Back in late 2018, Burger King debuted their limited-time “$1 deal for 10 chicken nuggets” deal as an effort to appeal to the low-budget shoppers. Because of the recent rise in prices of living expenses, Burger King is using this deal to help attract the target audience with low-income, as well as promoting their chicken nuggets item.Utilizing the chicken mascot on their packaging, the internet banner ads will consist of a series of animated interaction between the chicken mascot and the chicken nuggets. With colorful animated scenes like jumping over the chicken nuggets or raining chicken nuggets, the ads are eye-catching and fun to watch. The ads would also emphasize to the customer that the deal is affordable and the quality of the chicken nuggets are premium. Customer will be able to get a nice meal for a low price, with just $1.

Project | 07  "instax mini 8" Video Commercial

      The third assignment for my Comm 353 class was to create a 1-minute video commercial for a brand. This time, I decided that my brand was going to be Fujifilm install mini 8 polaroid camera. In 1998, Fujifilm introduced the first instax instant camera in which users can take and produce photos on the spot. They rebranded themselves in 2008 with more modern design that is more appealing to their users with the instax mini 8. They gain huge popularity among users in Asia market. Instead of focusing the designs of the instax mini 8, the video commercial will be focusing on the experience that the instax mini 8 provides to their users. The idea of capturing the moments and turning those special moments into something physical through polaroid films will be emphasized through the theme of human relationship, friendship to be more specific. Each of the pictures taken from the instax mini 8 carried a story/a magical memory behind it, as shown through the theme line of “instant the magical memories, forever.”

Project | 08  "Pringles' Be Different"
Integrated Ad Campaign

The last and final project from my Comm 353 was to design and come up with 9 pieces of creatives using different platforms for an integrated campaign. Pringles was the brand that chose for this integrated campaign. Pringles are the fourth most popular snack brand in the United States, right after Lay’s, Doritos, and Cheetos. Pringles offer a wide range of flavors, including their standard flavors and different series of limited edition flavors. Because Pringles offers so many flavors and many of them are different and unique, the “Be Yourself”  integrated ad campaign would adapt the idea of being different and turn it into a positive message of not being afraid to be yourself. For the campaign, 7 Pringles unique flavors will be selected for the new limited edition “Pride” flavors and each of the flavors represents a color of the rainbow. The campaign will be a way for Pringles to show their support to the LGBTQ+ community. The slogan for the campaign would be “Be different; Be unique; Be Yourself!” The underlying message of the campaign is to tell people to not be afraid to be different and don’t let others tell them how they have to be. The campaign encourages people to be themselves because they feel happiest when they are themselves. Utilizing many different advertising platforms, the campaign will send consumers encouraging and supportive messages with the unifying color of the rainbow. Ultimately, all the print ads, video ad, out-of-home ad will lead up to the big event, which is Pringles participation in the L.A Pride Parade during the summer, which is the peak of the campaign.

Project | 09  "Heart Locker" B-Movie Poster

     For my Comm 317 class - Digital Foundations, one of the assignments was to create a b-movie poster using Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop is one of my favorite applications from the Adobe Creative Cloud because you can do so much with it. For this project, I decided to create a horror movie poster with the help of my friends as models. I have always found the Visual Art building on campus scary, so I did my photo shoot for my poster there. The movie is basically about the kidnapping of a student and her body was later found in the Visual Art building brutally murdered with her heart found in the student's locker. Rumored among students said the spirit of the student still walked around the building late at night trying to find her heart.  I played around with the hue and saturation to convey this cold, spine-chilling story of a ghost looking for her lost heart. I think I did a great job overall because I delivered the story through my poster.

Project | 10  "AirPods 2 Ads" Tell or Sell Video

    I wrote two commercial scripts for Apple's AirPods 2 during my free time, but never have the chance to film them. This project from my Comm 317 gave me a chance to film and edit my commercials using Adobe Premiere Pro. For my first commercial, I played on the convenience aspect of the AirPods 2 is, especially when compared to your regular earbuds, which can easily get tangled. I wanted my commercial to be funny, so I edited a portion of the ad in western, cowboy style with the wild West’s music. For the second ad played on the idea of using the AirPods 2 to take your stress away through its quality sound. With the help of my friends, I filmed my commercials at school and at a nearby mall. I had a fun time editing the commercials and picking the music for the two ads. This is my favorite project for the whole semester.

Project | 11  Interactive PDF With All Projects

    Comm 317's final project was to create an interactive PDF file that showcases all the projects I have created for the class throughout the semester using Adobe InDesign. Adobe InDesign is definitely not my favorite Adobe program to just, but I actually had fun designing my interactive pdf. I decided that the theme for my interactive PDF was the space/universe theme. The reason was because the universe/space is endless, just like human's creativity. It fitted in the context that I am showcasing my creative works using my interactive PDF. Learning how to add those interactive elements were fun, especially when using hyperlink from page to another. Comm 317 overall was a fun class to take, but I wished I have taken this class before Comm 353 because that would have help me do better in Comm 353.

Project | 12  "Neighborhood Hidden Gems:
Family-Owned Restaurant" Catalog

     For my COMM 444 class, I created this restaurant catalog that consists of family-owned restaurant that I want to highlight for their amazing food. Also, COVID-19 has affected many businesses around the country, especially the food industry and the local restaurants. Because of the pandemic, a lot of these local restaurants have been negatively affected with many even temporarily closed because they don’t have the ability to do outdoor dining. A lot of these restaurants are  family-owned restaurants that have been around for a while. Many are local favorites, but they are at risk of closing due to the effects of the pandemic. You can say that they are the hidden gems that make our neighborhood rich in cultural flavors. Here is the list of some of the best family-owned restaurants in the OC area! Let’s all comes together and support these restaurants so they can continue to provide our neighborhood with amazing food!
